Christmas and New Year in Pattaya

Christmas isn’t a public holiday in Thailand, which surprises people every year. The 25th is an ordinary working day — shops open, offices open, traffic as usual. That’s useful to know: we deliver normally, and there’s no rush to beat a closure.

It’s widely celebrated in Pattaya all the same, mostly among expats, tourists and Thai partners who’ve adopted it. New Year is the bigger event locally, and the two run together as one long season.

Timing across the season

Because the 25th is a working day here, an office delivery on Christmas Day genuinely works — and it’s more unusual and more noticed than one on Christmas Eve. If it’s going to a home, the evening of the 24th suits most people better.

New Year is busier for us than Christmas. If you’re sending around 31 December, order several days ahead — that week is the closest thing we have to a second Valentine’s.

Sending from a colder country

A large share of our December orders come from Europe, for partners and friends spending Christmas in Thailand. If that’s you, the time difference works in your favour — order the evening before your time and it arrives on their morning.

Something festive reads better than something generic in this season. Red and gold, or anything that looks like the occasion, does more work than a bouquet that could have arrived any week of the year.

Questions about this occasion

Do you deliver on Christmas Day in Pattaya?

Yes. Christmas isn’t a public holiday in Thailand, so the 25th is a normal working day and we deliver as usual — including to offices, where it’s more of a surprise than you might expect.

When should I order for Christmas or New Year?

A few days ahead for Christmas, and longer for New Year — the week around 31 December is one of our busiest of the year. Ordering early gets you a better choice as well as a better slot.

I’m in Europe — can I send a Christmas gift to Pattaya?

Yes, and the time difference helps. Order in your evening and choose a morning slot in Thai time, and it will be waiting for them when they wake up. We’ll send you the photo so you see it arrive.
