Worth knowing

Valentine’s Day in Pattaya

The fourteenth of February is the busiest day of our year by a wide margin, and the single most useful thing we can tell you is to order early. Not because we want the order sooner, but because the best roses genuinely do sell out — across the whole city, not just here.

Three or four days ahead is comfortable. A week ahead and you get the pick of everything. On the day itself we do our best, but you’ll be choosing from what’s left.

Getting the timing right

Book the delivery slot as well as the date. Valentine’s Day slots fill from both ends — morning for people who want it waiting, evening for people who want it to arrive before dinner — and the middle of the day goes last.

If you’re sending to a workplace, morning is the right call. Flowers arriving at an office at 9am are seen by everyone; flowers arriving at 5pm are carried home in a taxi.

Choosing the roses

Red is traditional and there is nothing wrong with traditional on this particular day. If you send red roses every year, keeping the colour and changing the number is a better way to vary it than switching to something she’ll read as a downgrade.

Nine is the luckiest number in Thailand and a thoughtful choice. Ninety-nine means everlasting, and on the fourteenth of February it says something very specific.

Questions about this occasion

When should I order for Valentine’s Day?

At least three or four days ahead, and a week if you can. Premium roses sell out across Pattaya before the day, so ordering early gets you a better bouquet rather than just an earlier slot.

Can you still deliver on Valentine’s Day itself?

Usually yes, but slots and stock are limited by then. Order before 2 PM and we’ll do everything we can — though you’ll be choosing from what’s left rather than the full range.

How many roses for Valentine’s Day?

Twelve is the classic. Nine carries more meaning in Thailand, where it’s the luckiest number. Ninety-nine means everlasting and is what people send when they want it to be unmistakable.
